W pierwszą rocznicę tragicznej śmierci Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej Polski Lecha Kaczyńskiego, jego małżonki Marii oraz czołowych przedstawicieli Państwa Polskiego w tzw. "katastrofie" pod Smoleńskiem

Mija rok od chwili, kiedy usłyszeliśmy wstrząsającą wiadomość o katastrofie lotniczej, w której zginęli najważniejsi przedstawiciele Rzeczypospolitej Polski z Prezydentem Lechem Kaczyńskim i jego małżonką Marią na czele. Był to dla nas - Polaków - grom z jasnego nieba. Początkowe niedowierzanie przeradzało się jednak w wielką rozpacz, kiedy kolejne komunikaty potwierdzać zaczęły najgorsze: nie uratował się nikt.

Wiadomość tę podawały wszystkie agencje światowe we wszystkich językach, docierały one do najodleglejszych zakątków globu. Dla wielu wykraczało to poza zdolności pojmowania. Wszystkich bez wyjątku ogarnął smutek i żałoba. Późniejsze wydarzenia: sprowadzenie zwłok do Polski, uroczyste i pełne bólu ceremonie pogrzebowe w cieniu przepasanych żałobnymi kirami flag narodowych, miliony Polaków uczestniczących w pogrzebie Pary Prezydenckiej, modlitwy i nocne czuwania przy krzyżu przed Pałacem Prezydenckim - są najlepszym dowodem reakcji Narodu Polskiego na to, co sie stało.

Mija rok od tamtego tragicznego wydarzenia. Rok, w którym nie wyjaśniono niczego na temat przyczyn rzekomej "katastrofy", przemilczając jedne fakty, uwypuklając te wygodne dla oficjalnych wersji zdarzenia. Setki, jeśli nie tysiące spekulacji różnych opcji politycznych na temat szczegółów nie przyniosły żadnego przełomu w śledztwie, które bardziej wygląda na próbę tuszowania rzeczywistości niźli na rzeczywistą chęć wyjaśnienia prawdziwych przyczyn owej katastrofy. Katastrofy i tragedii tym bardziej dotkliwej, że miała ona miejsce dosłownie kilkanaście kilometrów od miejsca sowieckiego ludobójstwa, popełnionego na oficerach polskich w roku 1940 - od lasku katyńskiego. Dotkliwej w trójnasób, bowiem właśnie Prezydent RP wraz z najważniejszymi osobami w Państwie Polskim udawali się na uroczystości 70 rocznicy tegoż ludobójstwa.

W rok po naszej tragedii narodowej nadal stoimy w tym samym miejscu, w którym byliśmy 10 kwietnia 2010 roku tzn. nie wiemy wiele więcej ponadto, co Rosjanie zdecydowali się nam powiedzieć w tzw. raporcie MAK, któremu przyklasnęli od razu namiestnicy Moskwy i Berlina w Warszawie i co natychmiast poparły media niemieckie. A świat milczy...

Mamy do czynienia dokładnie z taką samą sytuacją, jaka panowała po tzw. raporcie Burdenki pod przewodnictwem sowieckiego pisarza Tołstoja, egzaminujacej ofiary sowieckiego ludobójstwa, popełnionego na oficerach polskich w 1940 roku przez NKWD. Wtedy również świat milczał, chociaż Trybunał w Norymberdze jednoznacznie nie zgodził się, że tego morderstwa dokonali Niemcy.

Dzisiaj mamy tzw. raport MAK z jednej strony i milczenie świata z drugiej. Czy trzeba następnych 70 lat by ruszyła prawda o tajemniczej katastrofie z roku 2010 ?

Polonia Semper Fidelis wraz z organizacjami stowarzyszonymi łączy się w bólu rodzin ofiar ewidentnego zamachu na czołowe osobistości Państwa Polskiego z Prezydentem Lechem Kaczyńskim i jego małżonką Marią. Podzielamy Wasz ból i łączymy się w modlitwie za ich dusze. Łączymy się ze wszystkimi, którzy pragną odmówić choćby jedną "zdrowaśkę" za ofiary katastrofy smoleńskiej. W naszych ośrodkach, tam gdzie to możliwe, będą się odbywały Msze Święte w intencji wszystkich ofiar katastrofy.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

June 30, 2010

Mr. KING of New York submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs

RESOLUTION

Calling for an independent international investigation of the April 10, 2010, plane crash in Russia that killed Poland's president Lech Kaczynski and 95 other individuals.

Whereas, on April 10, 2010, a plane carrying the Polish President Lech Kaczynski crashed in Russia, killing everyone on board;

Whereas the individuals onboard included President Lech Kaczynski and his wife, the chief of the Polish General Staff and senior Polish military officers, Poland's deputy foreign minister, 12 members of the Polish Parliament, the president of the National Bank of Poland, senior members of the Polish clergy, and relatives of victims of the Katyn massacre;

Whereas President Lech Kaczynski was on his way to honor the 22,000 Polish officers killed at Katyn by the Soviet Secret Police in 1940 when the plane crashed just six miles from Katyn;

Whereas, on April 10, 2010, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered the establishment of a government commission headed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to investigate the circumstances of the disaster;

Whereas Edmund Klich, the head of the State Commission for Aircraft Accident Investigations in Poland, was put in charge of the Polish investigative committee;

Whereas an investigation committee of the Prosecutor General of Russia started a criminal case in accordance with a violation of the safety rules of the Russian Criminal Code;

Whereas, on May 19, 2010, Alexei Morozov, the head of the technical commission of Russia's Interstate Aviation Committee, released a preliminary report that the plane did not suffer from any mechanical failures and ruled out a terrorist attack, explosion, or fire;

Whereas Russian investigators have released preliminary reports concluding that the crash was the fault of the pilots who did not listen to the air traffic controllers;

Whereas Polish investigators have released preliminary reports concluding that the crash was the fault of the air traffic controllers who gave delayed commands to the pilots;

Whereas some Polish security and aviation authorities were denied access to the crash site;

Whereas only the transcripts of flight recorders have been given to Polish investigators;

Whereas the black boxes have not been handed over to Polish investigators; and

Whereas over 50,000 Poles have signed a petition calling for an international investigation: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives calls for an independent international investigation of the April 10, 2010, plane crash.

Dear Congressman King,

In the name of the worldwide Polish organization, Polonia Semper Fidelis, we’d like to express to you our deep gratitude and our full support for taking the initiative within the US Congress in resolution 1489 regarding a re-examination of the flight catastrophe in Russia on April 10, 2010, where as a result President Lech Kaczynski and 95 other government figures were killed.

For all of us Poles, including those living in Poland, as well as the Polish living in the US, Canada, Australia, and many other countries that recognized President Lech Kaczynski, his wife Mary, and the other highest members of Poland, this was an impactful move. It was a national tragedy, especially because it had occurred no more than a few miles from the massive murder of the sons of Poland in the forest of Katyn by the NKWD in April of 1940. For the commemoration of the thousands of deaths there, President Kaczynski and his members went through their final trip.

In the result of all investigations, from the Russian side, there was not much explained, if anything. There still exist more questions than answers, to solve this tragedy. This causes a need for understanding for not only the Poles, but also all of those with friendly ties to Poland who want answers as to a full explanation of this tragedy through an international means of investigation.

Polonia Semper Fidelis stands on the decision that calling forth such a commission was the rightful step in moving toward finding justice for those who died in the tragic crash. Also, this is a rightful movement in giving honor again to all those other thousands that died in the Katyn forest in 1940, an unsaid political event 70 years ago. Let’s not allow, for a second tragedy to easily be dismissed not only because of being overlooked, but maybe perhaps even an injustice on the Russian side by an additional responsibility of the Polish judicial system, not explained to the public, with some detailed political goals that may have helped yet again, erase the true picture of the true occurences.

Polonia Semper Fidelis is therefore expressing its deepest thanks to you, sir, for the initiative taken in the US Congress and of your full support for Poland and for the name of Poles worldwide. To this we also add a list of people and organizations that along with PSF, wish to explain their support for resolution 1489.
